Research Notes

Norman and Irene Bartlett had five births registered in NZ between 1921 and 1932. There is no Irene, or Phyllis for that matter, though. It is unlikely that they neglected to register one but not two of their offspring. It suggests to me that her surname was misspelled or transcribed incorrectly at some stage when the BDM index was set up. Also, I notice that all the Bartlett children have two given names, this Irene has only one. Could this person actually be Phyllis Irene Bartlett, listed as a sibling to this Irene? Death: 2003/19321 Wise, Irene Frances DOB: 19 February 1922 - Still checking to confirm. When searching Irene Frances Bartlett in Deaths after 2000, this record does not come up, so Bartlett is unlikely to be her birth name. There does not appear to be a birth of an Irene (Frances) registered from 1920 to 1930 with a mother named Irene who is a likely fit. No marriage record on the Wilson Collection for an Irene Frances Bartlett or in NZBDM marriages before 1947. Possibly check electoral rolls and online trees?
