Biography

Born in East Kingston, NH, circa 1857.

The 1870 census for West Andover, NH, lists George W. Bartlett, a 14-year-old farm hand, in the household of 63-year-old farmer Aaron Cilley.

George married his cousin Hattie, daughter of Sylvanus Bartlett. They had one child, Harry Sylvester Bartlett.

In 1880 George and Hattie were living in Newton, New Hampshire, as were her parents and George's brother Stephen.

In 1900 they were in Haverhill, MA. George's occupation was conductor for a railroad. Hattie's sister Martha was living at the next house number.

The 1910 census shows George living in Boston, married to Alice L., and conductor for a steam railroad.

In 1930, George was living in Waltham, MA. He is listed in the census as single, age 76 and a salesman of toilet articles.
