Caroline Bartz was born on November 11, 1824 in the town of Zickwerder in Kreis Wirsitz of the Posen Province in Preussen(Prussia) to Gottfried Bartz and Anne Dorothea (Schulz) Bartz. She was the second of their 4 children. Caroline was baptized on November 21, 1824.[1]
Family
On December 7, 1845, at the age of 21, Caroline married Gottfried Mieske in the town of Friedrichshorst in Kries Wirsitz of the Posen Province in Preussen(Prussia).[2]
Children:
Henriette (1846-1847): Died at the age of 2 months.
Edward Julius (1871-1945): Married Bertha Zank (1873-1959), 2 children.
Immigration
Sometime in 1854, at the age of 30, Caroline and Gottfried, along with their 4-year old daughter Ernestina, immigrated to America. (See Research Note)
Death
On December 27, 1903, at the age of 79, Caroline passed away in Fall Creek, WI. She is buried in Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek.[3][4]
