Sarah Ann Bates was born in Jul 1864 in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia, daughter of George Bradley Bates (1828 - 1908) and Ann (Kennedy) Bates (1834 - 1916).[1]

Sarah died on 1 Aug 1864 in Penal Hulk 'Success' Williamstown, Victoria aged 1 month.[2]Sarah's parents were prison warders & wardress and residing on the hulk at the time of her death. She was buried in Williamstown Cemetery 2 AUGUST 1864.[3]
