Biography

Frederick was born in 1890 to Frederick Charles Taylor Batty and Selina Smedley. ^[1] (Born with a last name of Batty, Frederick used the last name of Battye throughout his adult life as evidenced by his military records, two marriage certificates and death certificate.)

In 1915, Frederick married Ivy Constance Barclay in Norwood, South Australia. ^[2] That marriage ended sometime prior to 1927 and Frederick re-married, in 1931, in New South Wales, to Gertrude Barbara Seebohm, ^[3]

Frederick served in the Australian Army during WW2, (putting his age back seven years to avoid rejection). ^[4]

Frederick passed away in 1966^[5] and was cremated at the Woronora Crematorium, Sutherland Shire, New South Wales.^[6]
