Biography
Mary Baxter was the first wife of Edward Downs. Her parentage is unknown, although she is likely closely related to Temperance and Elizabeth Baxter, the daughters of John and Desire (Gorham) Baxter who married Edward's brothers.

I was wondering if Mary might be a daughter of Shubael Baxter from a previous marriage, as marriage among step-siblings was common Cole-12288 22:11, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Do you have a source for the parents. Edward's step father was Shubael Baxter, who was the son of temperance. His only known marriage is to Edward's mother....Trying to sort this out.
