Biography

Robert L. Beall was born in Montgomery County, Maryland. He was drafted into the service during the American Revolution in early March of 1781. He first served in Capt. Aaron Harris' company in Col. Murdock's Regiment of Maryland Militia. He was marched to Annapolis and there placed in Capt. David Lynn's company under the command of Gen. Smallwood. Robert was furloughed in September of 1781 due to illness. He had not recovered before the time Cornwallis surrendered.

He first married in Frederick County, Maryland by license dated 11 August 1787 to Ann "Nancy" Aldridge, daughter of John Aldridge.[1] He secondly married to Mrs. Ann "Nancy" (Edmonston) Nichols. His will was dated 5th December 1833 naming his wife Nancy, but was not proved until 23rd December 1851, at which time he had no living wife.
