Timothy was born about 1769, in Tinicum Township, Bucks county, Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Beans and Hannah Balderson. In 1783, William and Hannah resided in Fairfax, Loudoun county, Virginia, where his grandfather, Timothy Beans, and grandmother, Rebecca Paxson, also lived.
On November 19, 1793, in Loudoun county, Virginia, Timothy married Mary Randall. [1]
In 1799, Timothy moved to what was then called "The Northwest Territory," in present day, Jefferson county, Ohio. His parents followed him three years later.
