Biography

Calamese "Cal" Beckett was born 1820 in Lewis County, Kentucky. Cal was the son of John Reason Becket and Harriett Bell both of Kentucky.

Cal who was a Farmer married Eliza Jane McInturf of Tennessee. Cal and Eliza Jane migrated from Kentucky to Texas eventually settling on a remote ranch in Brackettville in Kinney County Texas where they raised 12 children.

Cal was close to 70 years old when he passed away in 1898. He was buried on his ranch in Brackettville.

Research Notes

Birth year needs review and correcting. Parents were married in Oct 1821 so I suspect 1822 might be more likely a birth year for Cal. -Lori Zukerman
