Susan was born in 1832. Her parents were Henry and Catharine Beckley.

In the 1850 census Susan, age 18, was enumerated in the household of Henry Beckley in Big Island Township, Marion Coutny, Ohio.^[1]

On September 23rd, 1855, She married Eleazer Martin Dutton.^[2][3]

In the 1860 census Susan, age 28, was enumerated in the household of E.M. Dutton in Bowling Green Township, Marion County, Ohio.^[4]

In the 1870 census Susan, age 39, was enumerated as in Bowling Green Township, Marion, Ohio. The family has a substantial estate, and she has had six children^[5]

1870 was a very hard year for this family, Rachel Dutton, Susan's mother-in-law, died on June 13th. ^[6]

Susan gave birth to her youngest child, Jacob Warn Dutton, on June 15th, 1870. She passed away on September 6th. Jacob died of a fever, shortly after his mother, on September 26th. ^[7]
