Edward Franklin Beeson was born on August 5, 1815, in Surry, North Carolina, to Frances Mary Key, age 25, and Richard D Beeson, age 24.He married Mary J "Polly" last name unknown in 1838 in Georgia. They had six children in 10 years. He probably died after 1873 in Lauderdale, Mississippi, at the age of about 58, and was buried in Meridian, Mississippi. Probable Burial site :Beason Cemetery, Meridian, Lauderdale County, Mississippi. In 1850, Edward F. and family were in Randolph Co, AL. By 1853, he had moved to Lauderdale Co, MS where his brother William R. and family were living near Meridian. Both Edward Franklin and William R. Beeson are listed in the 1860 Lauderdale Co, MS census. Although William R. is listed in the 1870 Lauderdale Co census, Edward F. and family are not. But there are some land transactions in Lauderdale Co dated 1871 through 1873 stating Edward F. or E. F. of Lauderdale County. The last reference for Edward F. and Mary J. Beeson is a deed in Lauderdale County signed on 22 Dec 1873. They are not in the 1880 census for Lauderdale Co. Believed to have been killed by Union Troops shortly after the war, and to have been buried with his wife, Mary (Polly) in a now unmarked grave contained within an iron fenced plot. /[1]/[2]
