Research Notes
Regarding his name:
The death certificate of his son Charles Mitchell Belcher records his name as "Aners Belcher"[4]
The digital record of the death certificate for "Chrispi"[5] records his first name as "Agners" but looking at the visual of the original, it appears to be "Aners." The last name is clearly Belcher, and the birth date and place, the death date and place, and his fathers name are all correct, so this is the correct person. However, one other detail on the death certificate is incorrect: His mother's maiden name, "Rebecca Holseng," which is remarkably close to his wife's maiden name, Sarah Rebecca Holstine. The informant is ?.?. Belcher likely one of their children. It would not be unreasonable to presume they inadvertently gave their mother's (his wife's) maiden name instead of the name of the mother of the deceased.
