Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1773.[1]

Little is known about Elizabeth's early life, but it is reported that she was married first to a man named Butler, before marrying Thomas Morgan. Thomas and Elizabeth had seven children, all born in Hamilton County, Ohio: Elizabeth (1799), Evan (1802), Martha (1803), John (1806), Ruth Ann (1807), Thomas (1810), and Margaret (1814).

In 1822, Thomas and Elizabeth moved to a farm in Sangamon County, Illinois. In 1830, now in their 50s, the couple was residing in Sangamon with an unidentified female child, between ages 5 and 9.[1] Residing next door was Thomas Morgan Jr and his wife. [2]

In 1850, Thomas an Elizabeth were residing on a farm in Sangamon County with two adult grandsons, Marcena and George Morgan, and a young woman named Sarah Jackson and her infant son, George.[3]

It is said that Thomas and Elizabeth eventually, moved to Schuyler County, Illinois, where both Thomas and Elizabeth are said to have died in 1858.
