Biography

Clara Etta (Bell) Smith was born on 25 Mar 1891 in Yesler, Washington, United States. Her parents were William Samuel Bell (1862 - 1930) and Anna Elmira (Palmer) Bell (1871 - 1955).
Clara played piano and once said she had never heard a song she could not play. Later she played a small accordion. Clara had a small dance band at one time.
Clara and her sister Georgia were active in the Rebekah Lodge - a fraternal organization.
Clara married Herman J Wood (1893 - ~1947) on 4 Sep 1915 in King, Washington.[1] Clara and her husband were living with his parents in the 1920 census. Herman Wood was the son of Joseph B. Wood . Herman was working in a garage and his father was a house carpenter.

Clara married Roger Smith ( - ) in 1959 in Washington.[citation needed] Roger Smith died on the dance floor.
Clara died on 27 Mar 1982 in Bremerton, Kitsap, Washington aged 91. [2] Clara died in a rest home after many years of suffering from Alzheimer Disease.
