It is not as likely to a be child of Stephen Bennett and Polly Lewis as they were married in 1798. Robert P. Bennett was born in 1796 and not as likely in that day to be born two years before a marriage. There is documentation he was born in 1796 and they had moved from Bennington County, Vermont if you look at the narrative on Robert N. Bennett's page (Robert P. Bennett's son). I'm going to continue to research further but what makes you think he is a son of Robert P. Bennett and Polly Lewis?? Or why do you think he couldn't be a son of Francis and Betsey? Only two years separate the dates of birth from the last child. I welcome the comments and ideas so we can try to come to a conclusion that is correct. Thanks.
I think that Francis and Betsey did not have Robert P. Bennett. I think it more likely that Robert P. Bennett's parents were Stephen Bennett and Polly Lewis. Anybody have any documentation???
thanks
