Biography

Evelin was born about 1852^[1][2] at Ashfield cum Thorpe, Suffolk, England, the son of John Bennett and Elizabeth Bennett.

In 1874, Evelin had an illegitimate child, Laura Bennett Garnham, with Maria Garnham, who he then married in 1875^[3].

Evelin and Maria appear to have separated by 1881, so it is possible that Evelin was not the biological father of Maud Bennett (who was also known as Maud Denny).

By 1891, Evelin was living with widow Amelia aka Nelly Bowell nee Gaskin as if they were married.
