Biography

James was born in 1848.^[1] He was the son of John and Rebecca nee Samuel. He was baptised on the 27th of August 1848.^[2]

James Bennett married Margaret Ann Crow/Brazneal in 1869.^[3] They immigrated to New Zealand in 1874 aboard the Howrah with their sons William and Wilson.^[4]

He passed away in 1918 in Kauwhata. ^[5][6][7] He is buried in Feilding Cemetery.^[8]
