Johann was born in 1697 in Iggleheim, Pfalz to Johannes Bentz and Susannah.[1] Johann Pence arrived in America aboard the Phoenix on 15 September, 1749 with his son, Ludwig. It is uncertain whether Maria Barbara emigrated with George. He passed away in 1778. [2]
