Frederick William Berdnt was born around 1860, the son of Francis August Berndt and Rebecca Langdon.^{[citation needed]}

His children with Lucy Ann Middleton (nee Gehan) were:^{[citation needed]}

• Gladys Victoria Middleton (1894–1982)
• Rupert Oliver Middleton (1896–1970)
• Frederick Edwin Middleton (1900–1968)

Frederick never married Lucy, as she hadn't divorced first husband John Middleton.

Frederick died in 1942 in Stawell, Victoria, aged 82 years.^[1]
