I am having difficulties getting the correct line for my father. Known as Joseph A.E. Berube & Ernest Joseph Berube. As story goes he changed his name at some point to enter the service. Growing up I’ve seen mail in both names. I have inserted (#) to help sort out all the Joseph’s.

My father Joseph Berube(1) b.19 jul 1910 m. Blanche Elizabeth Gamache b. 6 Apr. 1913. His father Joseph Berube(2) b. 19 Jan 1882. m. Dora Bergeron on 20, Nov 1882. His father Joseph Berube(3) b. 1863 m. Marie Paradis on 28 Feb 1881. (I recently received help from a fellow genealogist at this point who passed on this info. for my father.) The Joseph Berube(3) b. 1863, father is Joseph Amable Berube(4) b.21 Aug 1836 m. Marie Onesime Morin on 11, Feb 1862 in Kamouraska Q,C. His father, Joseph Amable Berube (5) b. 3 Oct. 1806 m. Marie Louise Ouellette on 12 July 1833 in St. Pascal, Kamouraska Q.,C. This new information starting at Joseph(4) lets me continue on down the line to Robert Berube b.1572 d. 1614, m. Adenette Petit 4 , Aug 1592. Although I’m very elated being able jump a big hurdle, I’m still not 100% comfortable with adding Joseph Amable Berube (4). Something feels off. Can someone please help me set this all straight? Thank You in advance, Barbara (Berube) Darling
