Biography

Joseph Bidwell was born about 1650 based on his marriage date, supposedly in Wethersfield on the east side of the River.[1]

Joseph and Mary Bidwell were married 18 May 1675, in Wethersfield, Connecticut.[2] [3]

  4. Benjamin, b 15 or 26 Sept., 1683 or '84; res. Glast.
  5. Ephraim, b 16 Aug 1686; d 1753; res. Glast.; m. 3 Nov, 1713, at Wallingford, Ct., Elizabeth Lewis
  6. Lideah, b 13 May 1689; m 24 May 1717 Eleazur (s. Samuel) Foote, of Hatfield; two children
  7. Mary, b 18 March 1692.

Estate

Will of Joseph Bidwell of Wethersfield, dated 2 June, 1692, inventory L254-04-00 taken 17 June, 1692, by Samuel Hall, Joseph Hill, Thomas Fitch.

"My will is that my wife have my entire estate for her maintenance and the bringing up of my children; if she marry then make an equal distribution to all my children of all my estate which is left, excepting her thirds; my wife to be sole executrix. I desire Deac. Samuel Butler and my brother Jonathan Cole to be Overseers. Joseph Bidwell. The children: Amy, 14 years of age; Joseph, 12; Benjamin, 9, Ephraim, 6; Lydia, 3, & Mary, 4 months. Witnesses: Sarah House, wife of William; Elizabeth arnold, wife of Henry."[6][7]

Joseph was born in 1650. He passed away in 1692.

Bidwell-613 and Bidwell-92 appear to represent the same person because: Same wives. If not the same person then unlink the incorrect wifes

It looks like, at some point, Joseph and his brother John were merged into one profile. I've detached John's children from Joseph and reattached them to John.
