Biography

James was born in 1809 to Stephen Billue and Elizabeth Williams. He may have had at least 1 sibling: Stephen Jr. His father may have had more than one wife and other children. He married on 24 Nov 1833 in Wilkinson County, Georgia, to Sarah "Sallie" Dupree, daughter of Thomas Washington Dupree and Cynthia McDonald. He was about 24 years old. She died the following year. They did not have children together.

He remarried about 1835-1853 in Wilkinson County to Elizabeth "Lizzie" Fordham, daughter of Benjamin Fordham and Elsie Miller. They had 1 child together:
