Biography

Ingabo was born about 1724.

"The families of John RUDDELL and Andrew BIRD were neighbors in Augusta Co., VA., and witnessed each others' documents. Mounce BIRD married Clara RUDDELL, John RUDDELL's daughter; and John named them in his will.

It is probable that John RUDDELL's sons, Cornelius, Stephen and George married respectively, Ingabo, Mary, and Magdelene BIRD, daughters of Andrew, and that Andrew BIRD's son, Amos BIRD married Sarah RUDDELL, dau. of John.

Andrew BIRD, according to Wayland, was son of Abraham BIRD of Calvert Co., Md., and was not related to the prominent William BYRD family of Virginia. The Rev. Twyman WILLIAMS, late of Hampden-Sydney, a descendant of Andrew BIRD, did considerable research on the family and planned to publish a BIRD genealogy, but died before he accomplished that. I understand that he furnished the BIRD data for Wayland's HISTORY OF SHENANDOAH COUNTY .

Byrd-3236 and Bird-296 appear to represent the same person because: I believe there is much confusion on the LNAB. See below Andrew Bird is often confused with the Byrd family. This is the same Ingabo.

Hi! I posted a note on Byrd-1731 with a possible lead. As I mentioned, I work on the Virginia Jones family, but I hadn't heard the name Ingabo before. Now that I have, I'll let you know if I run across anything about an Ingabo!

... found this one too: http://www.vagenweb.org/bath/bird-3.htm

Cheers, Liz

Hi! I think that Bird might be the better choice for this person, based solely on the information here.

If you want help researching it, please post a question from this profile & tag it LNAB, Byrd, Bird, southern_colonies and Quakers, if you think they might have been Quakers (Chester made be think so, but the Chester Quakers I've encounted tended toward NC not western Virginia). I research the Virginia Jones family, but Ingabo is a new name to me!

Cheers, Liz (another MatchBot MP)

The proposed merge between Byrd-1731 and Bird-296 needs to be set as an unmerged match. The spelling for the LNAB needs to be determined and her parents need to be merged first.(Space:MatchBot Monitors Project)
