Biography

Zilpha Bishop was born about 1808 in South Carolina, USA as the second child of Ezekiel Bishop and Nancy Street.

She had six siblings, namely: Marion Maston, Josiah, Ann, Elizabeth, John A., and Lydia M.

She died after 1866 in Mississippi, USA.

When she was 14, she partnered with Tuttle/Tuggle before 1822 and had one daughter. When she was 17, she married (or partnered with) Martin Bishop about 1825. When she was 23, she married Henry Lawson Butler, son of John Butler and Bethany Jane Scott, in 1831 in Simpson County, Mississippi, USA. When she was 52, she married Joel Buffkin about 1860.

Zilpha Bishop may be buried at Old Good Hope Cemetery.

She lived in Simpson, Mississippi, USA in 1850 (Age: 42).
