Bjørnstjerne was born in Dec 1832 in Kvikne, Hedmark and christened on 24 Feb the following year.
He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1903, "as a tribute to his noble, magnificent and versatile poetry, which has always been distinguished by both the freshness of its inspiration and the rare purity of its spirit". Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson died in Paris in 1910 and was buried in Vår Frelsers gravlund in Oslo (gravnr. 01.900.00.003).
