Alice was born about 1738 to Richard Blackburn and Mary Watts.[1]

Alice married William Ellzey in 1755. They had children, including:[1]

Slaves

In her will, Alice mentioned many enslaved people, who she bequeathed to her children:[2]

Others are mentioned, but their names are illegible--others may be able to decipher them.

William Ellzey's will was dated 29 July 1795. The following bequests were made to:

William named his wife (Alice Blackburn Ellzey) executrix and his son William Jr. as the executor of his estate.

Son William Jr., one of the executors produced the will at a court held for Loudoun County on April 12, 1796. Matthew Harrison Junior and Albert Russell were his securities. Bond was five thousand pounds. [3]

Alice was buried in the Ellzey Family Cemetery in Evergreen Mills, Loudoun County, Virginia.[4]
