3873. i. Amaziah Blakeslee d. Feb. 5, 1897; m. Oct. 5, 1852, Dorothea Wilson, b. Oct. 29, 1824, at Danby, N. Y. He was a sign writer; lived in Ithica, N. Y. where his widow still resides.[1]
Obituary:
Mr. Amaziah Blakeslee, whose illness with paralysis was recently referred to in this paper, passed away last evening about 5 o’clock, at his residence, No. 99 North Tioga street. Mr. Blakeslee was [in] the earlier years of his life a prominent musician here having been identified with Whitlock’s renowned band. He was also a sign writer of much skill and his services had long been in demand here. He was seventy years of age and is survived by a wife, a son and a daughter. His funeral will take place Monday at 2 P.M., from his late residence.[2]
