William married Florence Lanier. In 1880, they were living in Screven County, Georgia. William was working as a merchant.[1]
He passed away in 1883. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery Newington, Screven County, Georgia.[2]

MALPHUS of South Carolina (& his second wife, Hattie D.). In 1900, their elder daughter Cassie May BLITCH (1879-1949) married William James WALKER of Screven County; this couple settled in Florida.
On the 8th of November, 1863, at Rosedew (Rose Dhu), near Savannah, Willis S. BLITCH enlisted as a private in Company I, the Georgia Rangers, 54th Regiment of the Volunteer Georgia Infantry (an Effingham County unit). The company roll for December of 1863, the last one on file, shows him as being present. On the 12th of September, 1864, he was admitted to Ocmulgee Hospital in Macon, Georgia, with diarrhea, and he was transferred to an Augusta, Georgia, hospital on the following day. There is no further record on file.
