Biography

Nancy Blount was born in 1865, in Kentucky, most likely Nicholas County to Milton D Blount and America Jane Utterback. Her mother died in 1887 before she was married in 1891 to John Edward Hunt. Her father died a month before her daughter Stella was born in October, 1893. She saved and preserved Stella's outfit she wore in the covered wagon from Kentucky to Carroll County, Kansas where they bought some land near her husband's aunt Mary Ann. By 1901 they were in Woodward County, Oklahoma where son Ray was born. By 1908 Nancy, Stella and Ray were in Blackwell, Kay Oklahoma. Nancy was remarried in 1914 to Napoleon B Priddy, they lived in the house across from the high school, which was later tore down to make room. When granddaughter Georgia Lee was born in 1918, the doctor's informed them she needed a climate that was found west. Napoleon, Nancy, Ray, Stella, and Stella's husband Lee along with Georgia lee began their journey west arriving in Colorado Springs Colorado. Nancy kept in touch with her siblings and most likely before they moved from Oklahoma visited with them and took photos together in a scrapbook for her birthday. Nancy lived a long life with friends and her children and grandchildren. She was visiting California when she took a fall, her granddaughter Mary Jean came to visit her on her birthday in the hospital. When she died she was in California where her two children were living, and daughter Stella accompanied her casket on train to Colorado where she was buried beside her husband Napoleon Priddy.
