Charles Blunt was born in Kent, England.

Charles was born before 6 Jul 1862 in Horsmonden, Kent as he was christened on that date. ^[1] . He is the son of Charles Blunt and Eleanor Funnel.

In the 2 Apr 1871 Census Charles Junior was living at 32 1/2 Alleston Street, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Hackney. ^[2]

In the 1881 Census Charles was lodging with Robert Petley at Brookaby Street, Hackney, he was a labourer, and born in Goudhurst, Kent.

Charles married Eliza Ramm on 1 May 1882 in Homerton, London.

Charles and Eliza had a son Charles Henry J Blunt on 8 May 1883 in Homerton, London ^[3]

Charles and Eliza had a daughter Beatrice Eliza Blunt on 22 Aug 1885 in Mile End, London ^[4]

In the 2 Apr 1911 Census Charles is living at 18 Corinth Road, Lower Holloway, Islington, London. The census confirms that Charles and Eliza have been married 19 years and have had 9 children all of whom are still alive. ^[11]

Charles served in the Royal Engineers in WWI. He entered aged 43 on 16 Aug 15, and was discharged as midically unfit with emphysema and bronchitis on 1 Dec 16. He was 5' 4" tall. He was a Pioneer and his army number was 110945. He could not write and marked 'X' as his signature. He had very good character, and was stated as being born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. It confirmed Williams date of dirth as 9 May 1906.^[12]

Another entry confirms that on discharge Charles was living at 1 Ada Street, London Fields, London.

In the 1939 register Charles is living at 37 Gifford Street, Islington with his wife Eliza. He is a Builders Labourer born in 3 Mar 1862 and Eliza H Blunt was born on 29 Apr 1867 ^[13]
