Obituary from Isanti County News: Aaron Boettcher, 90, of Isanti died September 14, 2006 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Rush City.
Aaron Arthur William Boettcher was born June 15, 1916 in Blomford to William and Sophie (Krueger) Boettcher. He was born and raised on the farm in Blomford. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Weber. Aaron graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1935, and then attended the School of Agriculture on the St. Paul Campus for two years.
On July 27, 1941 he married Ethel Maaske in an outdoor wedding on the Maaske farm. Aaron bought the family farm in 1939 where they made their home and farmed in rural Isanti. Aaron farmed full time until 1964. He was Isanti County assessor from 1964 until he retired in 1981 and then from 1981 until 2000 he was a home appraiser.
Aaron was an active lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church of Weber where he served in many capacities over the years. He was also active in the community, a 4-H leader, served on the Board of the Isanti Creamery Association, the Isanti Co-op Produce Board and the Midland Board in Cambridge. He served as clerk for the local District #53 School until the school was consolidated. Besides being county assessor he was also the Isanti County zoning administrator.
He also enjoyed being an active member of the Isanti Senior Citizens Club. Aaron was always a very hard worker; he was a outdoor person and enjoyed doing the yard work. After retirement he enjoyed fishing salmon in Lake Michigan and walleye fishing in Rose Lake in northern Minnesota.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence; sister, Marilyn Wallin; grandsons, Jeff and Shawn Boettcher; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Boettcher.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel of Isanti; daughter, Donna (Loren) Stender of Andover; sons, Dean and Sharon of Isanti, Wayne and Lois of Isanti, Wade and Dawn of North Branch; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Rubie Bellin, Eva Steinbring, Alvera Lindstrom and Ione Schlipp all of Cambridge, Marjorie (Pete) Zimmer of St. Paul; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 18 at St. John Lutheran Church at Weber with Rev. Kevin Zellers officiating. Mary Falk was the soloist and Kathy Zellers served as organist. The pallbearers were Allen, Harlan and Loran Bellin, Larry Boettcher, John Steinbring and Bill Zimmer. Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Weber. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home Isanti Chapel.
