Biography

John Bohannon was born on 30 Jan 1659 in St. Michael's Parish, Barbados, West Indies. He was the son of Duncan Bohannon (1635–1704) and Cecily Collmore Bohannon (1637–1678).[1]

According to the Birth Records below, his DOB was January 30, 1658. But, one must take into account the calender year ended in March according to the Julian Calendar.

Research Notes

  • A father's death date (Bohannon-27 died 1704) should not be more than nine months before one of his children's birth dates (Buchanan-78 born 1718) .

N.B. I am changing John Bohannon and Agnes Newberry's date of marriage from 10 Apr 1729 to 10 April 1676[2] as John is said to have died in 1718 and Agnes died on 6 Oct 1728. If you have a different date of marriage and a valid source or different death dates, please enter that information here and notify me and/or the profile managers. Thank you, Patricia Prickett Hickin, 9 Jan 2020.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

I agree with your point. However, Find A Grave has dates for his birth and death. Which do not match other sources

Church and Virginia records show that his marriage to Agnes Newberry was 10 Apr 1729 in Christchurch, Middlesex, Virginia. These records show that the couple had at least two children after that date. Please look at all of the sources and Additional Research Notes.

I am faced with either the error you point out in your comment; or that the birth and death dates don't agree with Find A Grave.

I have two other profiles that Find A Grave has incorrect Information.

Bohanan-68 and Bohannon-27 appear to represent the same person because: They have the same parents. Are also shown as being brothers.
