Biography

Research Notes

  • According to Kerry Ross Boren's book, The Boren Family: An Irish Legacy, this is the correct husband for Sarah Alley. The other John Boren that some genealogists think was married to Sarah Alley was this John Boren's uncle.
  • Mentioned in John Boren's will are firstly; the heirs of (Bassel) Bazel Boren; the heirs of Susannah McIntosh, (Israel's widow); the heirs of (Horace) Hosea Boren; and the [potential] heirs of J. [James F ?] Boren. Mentioned secondly are son James F Boren [not yet of age in1833] son Francis M Boren and daughter Eliza Massia Boren. Lastly mentioned are Casandra Boren (Horace's daughter), and a Sealy Boren (?). His wife Sarah is not mentioned and therefore presumed to have died before the will was written in 1833. His son Willis Boren, although still alive, is also not mentioned. The will was probated 3 February 1834.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
