She married Samuel Dillon, April 12, 1812, Guernsey, Ohio.
Samuel was widowed in 1811 from first wife Nancy FLETCHER. Samuel served in War of 1812, enlisting August 22, 1812, discharged February 22, 1813. Private, Capt. Joseph Kirkwood's Company, Ohio Militia. This information comes from his pension application naming Vashti as his widow. It also states his death was June 23, 1859, Sangamon County, Illinois where they had record of his residence in 1850 and 1855.
Vashti appears on the 1860 census, Wheeling, Ohio County, VA/WV with married son George Dillon and family. They live adjacent to other Dillon family members James M, Benjamin B, Rachel Hornbrook and Josiah.
Mortuary notice, The Wheeling Intelligencer, 4 Apr 1884:
"DILLON - At 11 o'clock p.m., on April 3, 1884, at her residence on Fourteenth street, Mrs. Vashti Dillon, in the 90th year of her age.
Funeral will take place at 2 o'clock p.m., from the residence of Rachel Hornbrook, No. 187 Fourteenth street. Interment private at Peninsula."
