Biography

Anne-Marie Bourg, daughter of Jean Bourg and Marguerite Martin, was born about 1668 in Port-Royal, Acadie, according to the census of Port-Royal taken in 1671 (she was 3 years old).

When Anne Marie was about 22 years old, she married around 1690 in Acadie with Pierre l'ainé Thibodeau.[1]

She is listed with her parents in 1693 census at Port-Royal and also with her spouse and 2 children at Les Mines.[1]

In 1686, at Port Royal, Anne [sic], aged 18, was living with her parents, Jean BOURC [sic], aged 40, and Marguerite MARTIN, and her six siblings: Marguerite, aged 16, Marie [sic], aged 13, Isabelle [sic], aged 10, Magdelaine [sic], aged 8, Catherine, aged 6, and Jean-Baptiste, aged 3. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 12 arpents of cultivable land with 16 cattle, 15 sheep, and 12 hogs.[2]

She is listed with her parents in 1693 census at Port-Royal and also with her spouse and 2 children at Les Mines.[1]

First, in 1693, at Port Royal, Anne [sic], aged 25, was living with her parents, Jean BOURG, aged 40, and Marguerite MARTIN, aged 41, and her five siblings: Marguerite, aged 23, Ilizabeth [sic], aged 18, Madeleine, aged 13, Catherine, aged 12, and Jean Baptiste, aged 9. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 12 arpents of cultivable land with 20 cattle, 18 sheep, and 18 pigs.
Second, in 1693, at Minas, Anne [sic] BOURG, aged 28, was living with her husband, Pierre TIBAUDEAU [sic], aged 25, and their two children: Anne Marie, aged 2, and Phililpes [sic], aged 3 months. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 6 arpents of cultivable land with 9 cattle, 5 sheep, and 4 pigs.[3]

Ceci confirme que l'époux de Marie-Catherine Barrieau et l'épousé de Pierre Thibodeau l'ainé étaient frère et soeur."

Google Translation: Charles Bourg, grandson of Jean Bourg and Marie-Catherine Barrieau, married Anne Thibodeau, granddaughter of Pierre Thibodeau the eldest and Anne-Marie Bourg, with a dispensation from the third degree of consanguinity (Rg Pleudihen 26 Jan 1768). This confirms that the spouse of Marie-Catherine Barrieau and the spouse of Pierre Thibodeau the eldest were brother and sister.

Ralph, thank you very much for your analysis and note about this profile. I did my best to correct all the issues you noted that I believe resulting from improper merge cleanup and "helpful" (not really) "corrections" of span code. The biography could certainly be improved but I hope the facts are correct and properly sourced. Please take a look and let me know if I missed something.
