Thomas Bowyer was born 15 Dec 1831 at Wrotham, Kent, England to Thomas Bowyer and Susannah Bannister. He emigrated to Canada with his parents in 1832, living probably in the Trois-Rivières area between Quèbec and Montreal until 1855, when they moved to Huron County, now Ontario. There he met and married Mary Brown Aitchison in 1864.[1] In the 1871 Census of Canada, he is enumerated on April 8th in McKillop Township, Huron County, Ontario with wife Mary, sons, Thomas, John, Robert and daughter, Susannah. [2] He moved his family from Seaforth, Ontario, Canada, to Kansas sometime after April 1871, but before he declared his intention to become a United States Citizen on July 5, 1871. [3][4]Thomas was a farmer, homesteading in Dickinson County, KS where he grew fruit trees and vineyards among other crops. He served as an Elder in the Presbyterian church at Manchester, KS. [5]
Thomas Bowyer died 4 Jan 1924 in
Abilene, Dickinson, Kansas, and is buried at Prairiedale Cemetery, Talmage, Dickinson, Kansas, USA. [6]
