Amanda Bradley was born 1 Jan 1849 in Risner, Floyd Co., Kentucky. She was the daughter of Elizabeth "Betsy" Pridemore and William Bradley.[1][2]
She married Wiley Bird Slone about 1867 in Floyd Co.[3] Their children were Elizabeth Green, Isaac B., Louanna, George Allen, Butler, May, John Marion, and Victoria. (They also had William Jefferson and Crow, who died as babies.)[4][5][6] The family farmed in Floyd Co., south of Prestonburg.[7] Neither Amanda nor Wiley could read/write.
In 1920, Amanda and Wiley were living with their daughter Victoria and her family.[8] Wiley died in 1923, and Amanda continued to live with Victoria.[9] She died at age 90 on 11 Jun 1939 in Blue River, Floyd Co.[10]
