William was born September 21, 1891 in Sevier County, Tennessee[1].
William Arthur Bradley married Lillian Hopkins on November 7, 1909[2], and together, they raised six children. Three boys, and three girls.[3]
William Arthur Bradley was a farmer, and raising a family during the Great Depression was very difficult. He was working in the fields in early March, 1936, and was caught in a heavy cold rain, which resulted in his becoming ill with pneumonia. Antibiotics, such as Penicillin were still very new and expensive treatment options for pneumonia in 1936. Cash was not easy to accumulate for small farmers in that time, and this led to his becoming critically ill, and passing on March 23, 1936 [4]. William Arthur Bradley's three youngest children were still at home with their mother. My father was the eldest of those three, and he was only 15 at that time[5].
