Benjamin was born on 3 May 1768 in Goochland County Virginia. He was baptized on 12 June 1768 by Rev William Douglas. His parents were John Bradshaw and Sarah McBride[1]
His father died before 26 September 1777, when Robert Coleman was appointed guardian for Benjamin and his siblings. [2] When the division of John Bradshaw's estate was made to his children on 13 February 1782, Ben Bradshaw and his youngest brother Brice Bradshaw were still not yet of age. [3]
On 27 September 1796 in Goochland County, Benjamin married Elizabeth Carter. [4] No parents are listed for either groom or bride, indicating both were of legal age.
