Alfred was born on the 26th June 1865 in Falmouth, Cornwell, England [1]. He was the son of William Henry Bray and Agnes Morcom. He was baptised in the Wesleyan Methodist, Falmouth on the 10th October1866 [2]. He grew up with his parents in Falmouth [3] and as a lad trained as a carpenter [4].
Alfred next reappears 20 years later in Liverpool where he is living with Ada Louise Gunn and their young son William [5]. Alfred and Ada subsequently married later that year on the 4th October 1891 in Liverpool, Lancashire. [6]. Their son William died in 1902 aged 5 and Ada died a few years later in 1907. Alfred then again disappears from the public record. He may have moved back to Cornwall.
An Alfred E Bray died in about February 1938 in Bodmin, Cornwall, England. He was aged 72 years 8 months. [7]. It is by no means certain that this is the correct Alfred.
