BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY OF WATERLOO Township; VOL I, Page 323
[1309-V] BRICKER, HENRY
Was born November 12th, 1838.
He was first married to AGNES LAMB and resided in Hamilton, Ontario, where the following children were born, namely:
VI ELNETTA 'Nettie' BRICKER
VI SARAH ETTA BRICKER
VI MADORA 'Dora' BRICKER
VI HENRY BRICKER (dead), and
VI ALBERT BRICKER (dead).
He is again married but name of second wife has not been received.
At present he resides in Toronto, Ontario.
(PLEASE NOTE: per to named son: HENRY BRICKER aka HARRY BRICKER. While compiling Family information - it was discovered that there are two Ontario Birth Records for a named son of HENRY BRICKER and AGNES LAMB BRICKER - "Harry" Bricker. Whether the multiple [two/2] records indicate two separate live births, [the first in 1870 and the second 1874,] or represent a record error, is not known. However, considering that:
  1. Both original Record images strongly imply two different, physical records - both clearly identifying the father as: Henry Bricker, one of which has his actual signature; and both identify the mother as: Agnes Lamb, both apparently separate/different record sets include the somewhat unusual categorical data/detail of "Occupation" for Agnes - and in both instances show: "Saloon Keeper"
  2. and that the earlier of the two records [1870] has corresponding day/month =11 June; and the latter [1874] record, a day/month = 27 November....
  3. and in spite of the fact both records clearly identify the child's name as: 'Harry'

...the more reasonable explanation would 'suggest' Agnes gave birth to two sons named Harry. One in 1870 and the next in 1874. Later historical references to this Family provide knowledge of 'Harry's birth, but do not cite the year of birth and perhaps, are referencing different "Harry" Bricker's without understanding the distinction. In the case of the cited reference below from: A Biographical History of Waterloo Township, Vol. I which was published in 1895, whichever birth was therein cited, that 'Harry' was likewise remarked on as: 'Dead'. Both records are included in HENRY BRICKER's Source documents) jlph
