Two sources have identified the grave of Henry Brien at Old Magheracross Cemetery. Evidently the church that accompanied the cemetery was destroyed during the Plantation and not rebuilt. It lies between Ballinamallard and Kilskerry in County Fermanagh bordering Tyrone. Jenny Brien of Fermanagh County, Ireland has completed a survey of the cemetery and photographed the stone. In email correspondence with her, she indicates that the cemetery is in the towland and parish of Magheracross. The parish lies mainly in Fermanagh, but includes two townlands in Tyrone – Roscor and Sheridan. The townland of Magheracross is west of the main road from Enniskillen to Omagh and north of the river. It is the last piece of land in Fermanagh. Christie Brien of Canada has also viewed the grave and has shared its inscription with me. Evidently, the stone is difficult to read, because some parts of Jenny's and Christie's transcriptions differ. Jenny Brien's transcription: This stone was Erected by Francis Brien of Gargadis in memory of his Father Henery Brien who departed this life July the 25 1815 Aged 57 years also the Body of Rebecca Brien who departed this life Febr the 1st 1853 aged 47 years also the body of Mary Brien who died 5th March 1831 aged 56 years. Christie Brien's transcription – “This stone was erected by Francis Brien of Gargadis in memory of his father Henery Brien who depd this life Feb the 25th 1818, aged 77 years. Also the body of Rebecca Brien who depd this life Feb the 1st 1783 aged 47 years. Also the body of Mary Brien who died 5th March 1831 aged 56 years.” Although the inscription in the photo is open to interpretation at some points, I am inclined to agree with Christie's transcription. In light of the marriage of Rebecca Coleman and Henry Brien documented in the Freeman's Journal, Dublin, Ireland, 22 Dec, 1764, the 77 year age of Henery is more accurate. Also, Rebecca's death date of 1815, age 57 as transcribed by Jenny Brien seems illogical in that she married in 1764. This would have made her around 8 years old at the time of her marriage. Rebecca's last child was born in May of 1782. The date on the stone appears to be 1782 to me and it would be quite possible that she died either during or shortly after the birth of her last child in light of her age of 47 at Rebecca Brien's 29 May 1782 birth.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Henry by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Henry:
