Biography

Ignace est né le 21 octobre 1837 et baptisé le même jour en la paroisse Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire de St-Hyacinthe, Bas-Canada. Ses parents sont Ignace Brodeur et Élisabeth Lapré..[1][2]

Ignace Brodeur married Marie Paquet on 29 Sep 1862 in West Shefford (Bromont), Quebec.[3]

He is listed as a laborer in 1871 in West Shefford, where he was married.[4].

In 1872 He and Mary immigrated to the United States.[5]

During his years in the United States, he used the name Lavigne, with both Enos and Ignace used for first names. See the censuses.

The family is together in 1880 in Cloud, Kansas, with just two children, Louis age 14, and Joseph age 12. It's possible the older children could have been married or died by this time.[6]

In 1895 Ignace and Mary were in Cloud, Kansas with their youngest child age 13 living with them, identified as H Lavigne.[7]

He and Mary lived in Cloud, Kansas in 1900 (no children living with them at that time),[5]

He died in Kansas in 1910 [8]
