John, the third son and seventh of twelve children of John Brooks and Mary Bruce was born on 28 November 1694 at Concord, Massachusetts.[1]
Marriage and Children
John and Phebe Richardson, the daughter of Zachariah and Mehitable (Perrin) Richardson indicated their intention to marry on 27 February 1717 at Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut.[2]Their marriage occurred on 2 June 1719 at Pomfret, Connecticut[3]They had seven children born at Connecticut:

Death and Burial
John Brooks III died on 29 March 1743 in his 48th year at Ashford.[11]He is buried in Old Ashford Cemetery at Ashford, Windham, Connecticut.[12]

JOHN", b. Nov. 28, 1694; moved to Connecticut. The Woodstock, Ct., records give the marriage intention of "John Brooks, of Woburn and Phebe Richardson, of Woodstock." Feb. 22, 1717-18; and their marriage occurred June 2, 1719, per Pomfret records. Previously, on June 11, 1 7 IS, land was deeded at Pomfret to " John Brooks, j"r., of Woburn Co. Middlesex, Colony of Mass. Bay." John Brooks died Mar. 29, 1743, per gravestone in cemetery near the Ashford Congregational Church. The inscription reads : " John Brooks, husband of Mrs. Phebe Brooks." The last figure of the year of his age is reported as illegible, but the age was evidently 48 years.[13]
