Phoebe (Brouwer) Demaree was part of the Low Dutch Settlements in Kentucky, 1780-1810
Phoebe (Brouwer) Demaree is one of twins.
Femmetie / Phoebe Brouwer
Femmetje, also known as Phebe or Phoebe (English equivalents to Femmetje) was the daughter of Daniel Brouwer and Marietje Koning. She was married for the first time before 1777, so she was probably born before 1760. NOTE: Where does the 23 Oct 1763 birth date on this profile come from?
She married first circa 1776 David Banta, son of John Hendrick Banta and Trientje Demarest.[1]
Femmetie Brouwer married second at Conewago, York County (now Adams Co.), Pennsylvania, before 1783 Cornelius Demaree, son of David Demaree and Helena Van Voorhees.[1] The couple resided at Conewago for several years before removing to Kentucky with other family members. Their first three children were born at Conewago between May 1783 and October 1787, before the family went to Kentucky.
She was mentioned in her father's will dated 15 January 1791, identified as "Phebe, wife of Cornelius Demaree." The will was proved at Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky, [2] Phoebe is mentioned in Kentucky records as the wife of Cornelius Demeree and the daughter of Daniel Brower.[3]
Femmetie Brouwer died sometime before 14 November 1810, when Cornelius married his second wife, Polly Waddle, in Mercer County, Kentucky. [4]

She had seven known children with Cornelius Demaree.[1] The first three of these children were baptised in the Reformed Dutch Church of Conewago, Pennsylvania: [6] Her Demaree children were:[1]
