Biography

Henry was a Friend (Quaker)

Henry Brown was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania to Quaker parents Richard Brown and Hannah (Reynolds) Brown, on May 8, 1720.[1]

He married Esther (Harris) Brown Jnr., the daughter of Samuel and Esther Harris. Their marriage intentions and record were the first to be written into the Minutes of the newly formed Fairfax Monthly Meeting in Loudoun County, Virginia.[2][3] The Fairfax Women's Monthly Meeting also recorded the couple's marriage preparations which took place sometime between July 31, 1745, and August 23, 1745.[4]

Henry and Esther had the following children (all born in Loudoun Co., Virginia):

Hannah BROWN b: 3 JUL 1747
JOHN BROWN b: 16 DEC 1749
Mary BROWN b: 3 MAY 1752
Esther BROWN b: 10 NOV 1755
Henry BROWN b: 10 NOV 1758
Anne BROWN b: 10 APR 1761
Mercer BROWN b: 28 NOV 1763
William BROWN b: 5 AUG 1769

It's claimed Henry died on November 21, 1801 [citation needed] but without a record confirming that date, it can be confidently stated instead that he died before January 11, 1802, when his Will was proved in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Brown-25697 and Brown-14826 appear to represent the same person because: Vital dates of child & locations line up to Quaker documentation
