Baptised 26 Jul 1820, parents William and Sarah.[2]
William married Sarah Ann Brown in Chichester, St Peter the Great on 9 December 1839. William was a servant of Bognor, Sussex and the son of William Brown, also a servant. Sarah was living in West Street, Chichester and was the daughter of Andrew Brown, a labourer. [3]
There are possibly 2 William BROWNS - need to sort out.. The Surrey William in 61 is a labourer, probably not ours. are there two Janes as well?
This William is a widower by 1871 and married to Jane2 by 1881.
Whilst the 1851 census reflects different birth details they are similar AND occupation is also Coachman!! If this is right they may have been married as early as that. Wife Jane, but if a widow in 71 can't be the same one

↑ Sarah are likely to be another sibling given she is living with his other children Jane and Charles in 1861. William jnr is not there, probably working elsewhere as he would be 16.
