George Brown was born in Waimea South, in the Nelson district of New Zealand, on the 21st of May 1857. He was the son of Thomas Brown and Elizabeth Wadsworth. [1]
George Brown passed away in 1894, aged 37.
He died at Nelson hospital on the 27th of December 1894.

George was buried at Wakapuaka Cemetery, in Nelson, New Zealand. [4]
His mother, Elizabeth Betsy Brown was also later buried in the same plot in 1920 and her inscription was added to the headstone.
The headstone is on the bank near the Ancestors Attic. Baptist block 5, plot 70.
By 2004 the headstone was no longer standing and was partially concealed in long grass. [5] In October 2019, relative Mike Brown, with the help of family, re-erected the headstone.
