Joshua is honored for his patriotic service as a solder, by the Society of Daughters of the American Revolution as Ancestor# A016044. Application for membership in the Society have been made by his descendants of his sons, William Browning, who married Isabella McAlpin; John Browning, who married Jane Houze; and of his daughter Margaret Browning, who married Aaron Parker.
