Peter was born about 1753. Peter Buffington ... He passed away about 1794. He was the son of Peter Buffington and Hannah Waite.
Peter is said to have gone to Canada to avoid conscription in the Rev War, sending his family to Hopewell Meeting in Virginia.
They had dealings in Elbert Co. GA and after the war Peter returned to GA to make peace with the new goverment.

He married Sarah Mooney about 1775. They had the following children:

This collection consists of a letter from Moses Buffington in Savannah, Georgia to his father, Peter Buffington, Sr., dated December 8, 1779. The letter relates Moses' experiences during the siege on Savannah by British troops during the Revolutionary War. In the letter, he also mentions his brothers and friends. A typescript of Buffington's letter is also in the collection.
